College and Career

      My second week of college has officially ended and the third week will begin on Tuesday. So far I've been making good grades and I enjoy most of my classes. I wish I could brag about the college I'm going to, but that would give away my location which I'm not supposed to do. I can, however, brag about my teachers. All my teachers have been wonderful. I plan to tell you all about the community college I'm going to and the wonderful teachers in January. That is when my birthday will finally roll around and I can tell you a little more about myself.
    I'm not sure how much I told you about the courses I'm taking.... In case I didn't say, I'm working on getting the Early Childhood Development Certificate. I'm a full time student so I have no time for work, but next semester I might apply as a substitute teacher. By the summer I hope to have a full time job at a daycare such as the Early Head Start. I want to work with infants or toddlers, preferably infants. Later on I might put my portfolio introduction up here which will basically say the same thing, but in more words. ;)
     I haven't been writing for two weeks now. Writing books, I mean. I've had plenty of essays and assignments to write, but no creative writing. So far I haven't had an intense desire to write something, but that may be because I am currently avoiding Pinterest. Pinterest is my main source of inspiration. I can't go there and not want to write. I think I just used a double negative.... (this is why I have two English classes)

Prince Honor Leopold and Captain Sebastian Smith

My second "main" character from mine and Ginny's fictional, medieval novel Icy Silence.  FYI, by "fictional, medieval" I mean a completely made up world in a made up medieval like era.
    Honor Leopold is the first prince of Ladok. With two younger brothers and a younger sister he will be the one to inherit the throne after his father. He's a reckless, playful boy with a temper who can be more serious than his peers would expect. His siblings look up to him and though he might be the more honorable one in the family he can be unpredictably moody and too easily angered. All this changes on one fateful day when the prince and other royalty and nobility go on a hunting trip. To gain more control of the throne one of the nobles plots to kill the heir so that his younger brother, Prince Malcom might inherit the throne, as she has more influence over him than Honor. Lady Tucker's captain conveniently found himself alone in the woods with Prince Honor, the perfect opportunity to kill the heir. For not only were they alone in the woods, but they had accidently crossed the border into enemy territory. So he drew his sword and committed treason of the highest kind, murdering the prince.
     Just kidding! He thought he killed Honor, but miraculously he survived. Lady Chrysanta of Torres (the enemy territory) and her captain found the prince just in time. However, like most of the people of Torres they'd never seen the royalty or nobility of Ladok before so they had no idea who's life they saved.
    When Honor awoke he was Honor no more. Suffering a severe head trauma he lost all his memories. Those who did know him thought he was dead and those who knew he was alive didn't know who he was. Lady Chrysanta and Captain Kaiden pieced him back together again and he became Captain Sebastian. Sebastian served King Augustine of Torres and became Prince Ezekiel's closest (and only) friend. A year went by and Sebastian became his own man, with still no memories of who he was before. Ladok declared war on Torres, sending Sebastian to the battlefield alongside Ezekiel.
     Sebastian is an angry man, ready to take his revenge on his attacker should the opportunity arise. He's not the same playful boy he was before and he's far less reckless. Perhaps the only thing that softened his heart was Lady Chrysanta. The most graceful and beautiful women in all of Torres stole his heart with one glance.
    Will Sebastian ever remember who he is? That is the question I was unable to answer until just the other day. 80,000 words later, reaching the climax of Icy Silence, Sebastian found his family, learned the identity of his "killer", and... *drum roll* had his memories returned to him. Captain Sebastian of Torres and Prince Honor of Ladok become one man. A soldier and a prince. A Torrian and Ladokian.
     That is the last scene I wrote in Icy Silence and one with the most development for Honor's character. For a while I seriously considered never making Sebastian remember. Sebastian was still in many ways the same man he was before. As I was writing the scene though, it just sort of happened. I knew that when he returned to the scene of the crime then it would trigger something in his mind and he remembered. It's cool how writing works like that sometimes. The story just takes off on it's own and things happen whether you meant them to our not. Honor still has much to do that will continue to shape him and change him and even alter the course of the story.
     When writing his character it was actually helpful for me to watch movies on characters who suffered memory loss. So when watching The Bourne Identity I called it research. ;) So yeah, it's been pretty fun writing Icy Silence.
    As far as character bios go I think this might have been one of my better ones.  Until next time...

A Peak into my Writing and Characters

     Writers, have you ever sat down with you computer, or pen and paper, and tried to write but you just couldn't. You literally couldn't do it. No matter what books you opened, what writing prompts you read, or what music you listened to you still couldn't write.
     I am having the problem today.
     It's like I've hit a writers block, but the thing is I know what will happen next in my books. It's not a real writer's block. In Tick Tock I want to make a confrontation between Claudia and Horatio. In Icy Silence I want to write Alice sending Malcom a letter that will make for another plot twist in the story. In Symphony's Crescendo I'll write how Cadence deals with Echo's flashbacks. in Light of Dawn... okay I'm actually stuck in that one. Not sure how to deal with the long boat ride.... In Borrowed Time Jasper will be working on the ship. In Western Winds Antoinette will be adjusting to her recent marriage to Lewis. Then there's Invisible. I don't even know where to start in that book. Unlike my other works it has more characters who's point of views I'll be exploring.
     All that and for whatever reason my fingers won't hit the keyboard, my mind won't create the sentences. Do you have any idea how long it took me to start writing this blog post? I feel drained of creativity and imagination.
    
    Okay, enough with the complaining. It's time for me to stop sitting on the pity pot. *sighs* I complain way to much on here.
    Looking to the bright side.... I wrote my first good scene with FBI agents. I tried many times and failed until this month I opened up a blank document and ta-da! :D I haven't named the book yet because if I do that it will be added to my list of serious projects. It's sort of just my free writing story for now. The two agents are Gabriel David and Sybil Romanov who work for a secret, international agency that I have yet to name.
      At the start of the book they're called to the crime scene of a murder victim. It's easy to identify her as Linette Ache and the cause of death is determined as multiple stab wounds to her chest and abdomen. At first it appears that the only questions they need to answer are who did it and where are they now? Via security cameras they discover that it appears to be a young girl no older than twelve who might be the culprit. It's a disturbing, violent crime that Sybil has difficulty blaming the child for. How could a girl commit a crime as ugly as that? Following a lead to England they discover it may be a lot more complicated than that.
    After that it gets to complicated for me to explain without just handing you the answers on a silver platter. Because some of the characters and their backstories preexisted before the book. The child is Emily, daughter to a well appraised assassin, and yes, she killed Linette. For one undecided reason or another it was self defense. The explanation I will most likely end up going with is that Cara, another preexisting villain, poisoned Linette with an undetectable drug that drove her so crazy she attacked Emily.
    Cara will no doubt be in Risking Love, which most of you have heard about. For those of you who haven't it's a book Ginny and I plan to co-write. We already have a lot of the characters formed, it's just a matter of choosing which one is the main character and when we should start writing. Cara Montoya, though... *smiles to self* I love her character. She is a villain, which you've surely guessed from her poisoning Linette, but later on in her story she has a change of heart. Well, more like her eyes were opened and she now has a lot of regrets. Still, she is the best villain I have ever created. She will probably frequently appear in Risking Love, she'll have a bigger role in my untitled work I was just talking about, and she was mentioned in Ginny's series, The Colors of Murder trilogy.
    You know what, maybe my next character bio will be on Cara. I don't know, I might not publish it if it ends up too dark or violent. She had a pretty rough past. And future... and present....
    So this post turned out a lot longer than I expected. Hopefully my next post will be a well written character bio. I will try to post one more time before school starts. Monday is my first day of college so please pray for me. Being a homeschool girl this will be a very new experience for me. I have no idea what college will do to my social media and blogging time so just consider that a heads up. It might take me awhile to post, but I guess that's nothing new.

College and Writing Frustrations

     Sorry I've been gone awhile. At least, it feels like a long time, but I'm not really sure how long ago my last post was. I just... I don't know what to blog about. I haven't been writing much since camp NaNo, which usually happens. My mom said I can't write during school which starts in a week. Um, I kind of freaked out about that.

I was in shock. I think I still am. I was speechless, then angry, then I cried and now... now I'm in denial. I am a writer! Writing is... it's who I am. I can't just not write for several months.

     So, I need to get off that topic before I start crying again. I'm not a crier... or I thought I wasn't. Something happened when I hit my teenage years and now I'm emotional. I was not this emotional as a kid. I would just angry and then I'd get over it. My thing was "suck it up", "get over it". Somewhere along the way that stopped working.
     I still don't know what to talk about. Obviously, I'm just rambling a little on writing and college and crying, That's really boring. How are you still reading this? So um... it finally got cool enough here for us to start opening the windows and letting some fresh air into the house. I love opening the windows in the spring and fall. I just love the fresh and natural light. :D
*several long minutes later* Got to go, I'm watching a movie with my family. :)

My July

     So I guess today has been an eventful day. I had a job interview, but I'm not sure how it went. Whether or not I get the job is still up in the air. I sent Darkest Before Dawn to a publishing company and should hear back from them in 2 to3 months. Because I'm finally trying to get it published I took it off of Wattpad, but if anyone wants to read it and give me a review just let me know. The more feedback I get the more my novel improves.  I also got a call from my college about one of the classes I'm taking. It looks like I'll be dropping the class which I'm actually happy about because I feel like to keep it would be too much. I don't have enough credits to be a full time student, but I have enough schoolwork to feel like one.
     I go on vacation soon. I'm super excited about that. Of course, if I get the job then I might not be able to go on the vacation. Still, I choose work over a week at the beach at this point. Because of my college schedule it's hard to fit in work too.
     I took a break from writing today which has been pretty nice. After writing in so many projects I need to leave it alone for awhile. My imagination can only stretch but so far at one time.

1. What is something you've never told anyone? I had a crush on a boy who I've never even met before. I met him on NaNoWriMo's Christian Teen forums and he was funny, a good writer, and he seemed like a good Christian too. Of course, I know better than to assume people are who they say they are online, but I still liked him. :)
2. When did you lose your first tooth? lol! You're kidding right? Stars, I can't remember. I only remember losing a few and I have no idea which ones were my first or my last.
3. Favorite childhood story? As a child I didn't really have a favorite, but if I had to choose one now I would say "The Monster at the End of this Book". :) I'm going to read that book to my children and grandchildren and hopefully my great-grandchildren too. XD
4. What is a "little kid" show that you secretly enjoy? Is Gravity Falls a kid's show? Because I've seen a few episodes and I love it. :D I can't think of any. Just movies. :)
5. Favorite fandom? Do you really have to ask? Doctor Who all the way!!! XD It is my ultimate fandom obsession. XD I'll forever be a Whovian!
6. How many pets have you had and what are/is their names? Just one Jack Russell Terrier mixed with another breed. Her name is Maggie and we think she's eight years old, but it's hard to keep track.
7. If you could fly or become invisible which would you choose? Invisible. If I could fly that would probably mean I'd have wings and that would be a hassle. ;)
8. Have you ever swallowed a fly? Yes, I think so. I probably swallowed quite a few flies and other bugs in my food, like in my fig newtons. But there was no memorable moment of me swallowing a fly that flew into my mouth or something, if that's what you're thinking of.
9. What is something weird that scares you? Monsters under the bed. I know there are other teenagers out there who understand because I've seen their tumbler posts. :) You know that feeling you get sometimes when you turn out the lights at night and suddenly it feels like something or someone is going to reach out and grab you. So you fling yourself onto your bed and scramble under the covers as if that will somehow protect you from the thing under your bed that you know isn't there. It's weird and scary. It doesn't happen to me that as much anymore, but it does happen on occasion..
10. If you had to either run a marathon in the mud or jump from a plane (with a parachute) which would you choose? I would jump from a plane. This girl doesn't run.
11. Favorite kind of candy? Hershey's milk chocolate bar.
12. If you could only read something from one author for the rest of your life who would choose? Not too long ago I probably would have said Veronica Roth or Merissa Meyer, but given their all too agreeable response to the Supreme Court's biggest mistake I will no longer be promoting their work. I would have to say Conan Doyle or Jane Austin.
13. Where is your favorite pizza place? The Kitchen. It's actually not that far from my place. I just walk from my bedroom to the kitchen. I don't even have to go outside. :D
14. Do you like chocolate? Given my answer to question eleven, yes, yes I do. XD
15. Which scares you more, snakes or spiders? Oh defiantly snakes. You can step on a spider and it's gone forever, never to bother you again, but a snake.... *shivers* I hate snakes.

Darkest Before Dawn - Three Chapters

 Hello again! I'm back. :D I thought in an effort to get my book out there I would publish this blog post on my old blog, which I still haven't gotten rid of. :)
    I've published three chapters of "Darkest Before Dawn" on Wattpad! :D After the first chapter it took me forever to finish editing the other two. I have a process for editing this time which is more thorough and therefore a lot slower. I still don't have another editor like I would like to, though. I'm having a lot of fun writing "Tick Tock" and I think that's helped me open up my "Darkest Before Dawn" document again. I haven't started writing in it yet, but I'll get there. I had hoped to get in paperback by the summer using my NaNoWriMo rewards, but I'm not so sure that's going to happen. We'll see. :)

National Novel Writing Month of 2014

      Hello again! So it's been awhile since I've posted on my old blog, but I'm back again and with no idea what I'm going to talk about.

     My novel for the National Novel Writing Month is coming along well. I did not wake up in a writing mood today, though. I had to force myself to sit down and write. I reached today's word goal! I have written 41,717 words in Darkest Before Dawn. 

    I downloaded Evernote and am trying to use it as a way to organize my book notes. So far it's working out pretty well. I can sync all my notes from my computer to my tablet so I can have it on the go too. I have moved all my Celestial Trilogy notes to it already. I wanted to put it on my iPod too because I use it more often, but apparently my iPod is too out of date for the app. As far as I know it won't allow me to download an older version of the app. :/  Oh well! Now I have another reason to use my tablet more often. :D 

   Also, pretty random but... I want to see Big Hero 6 soooo bad!!! That and The Maze Runner. The trailers for Big Hero 6 are funny and adorable and I can't believe I haven't gone to see it yet!

     For whatever reason I am still having the hardest time deleting my blog. As you've noticed I've had some fun redecorating. I saw some other blogs that use Blogger and the way they designed their blog put me in a designing mood. I'm probably going to do the same thing on Weebly.
     I wanted to do some cool, really long post on this blog, but can't think of anything to say. Well, I've had about twenty-one people read the first chapter of my book Darkest Before Dawn on Wattpad.com. I found out that I could share it on Google+ so once I did that I got more readers. That was exciting. So far I have written 15,841 words in that book. I was a little under 5,000 words short of my word goal for Camp NaNoWriMo.
    The title of this post has no real significance as the others may have. I like giving my blog posts and books cool titles, but the more I post the faster I run out of names. Maybe later I'll think of something and edit my post.

We're Moving!

Okay everyone, the time has come. I have my computer back so I've created my account on Weebly.com. The website should still be called juniornovelist4christ and name of the blog is still named Junior Novelist. I will have shared some of the posts that I may have already shared here, but I'll soon be working on a new post. I'm currently proof reading the beginning of the first chapter of Darkest Before Dawn which I hope to share with you soon. I'm still learning how to use Weebly so you may start to see changes to the website over time.

Book One of the Celestial Trilogy

I had just seen the newest Batman trilogy when I was creating my book Darkest Before Dawn. One of the characters in the movie said, "The night is always darkest just before the dawn." or something like that. Those words got stuck in my head so when thinking of what to name my new book, that came to mind. Hence, the title Darkest Before Dawn. Of course, I have to tie that into my book somehow. That was actually pretty easy because of the storyline. Plus, I wanted the book to be the beginning of a trilogy and the title also worked for that. I quickly decided to name the second book Light of Dawn, but I didn't know what I would call the third book. 

I finished Darkest Before Dawn and had even begun Light of Dawn last year. When I began to exam Darkest Before Dawn more closely I discovered that I had introduced too many characters. I was trying to focus on too many characters in one book. Seeing that I needed to fix that I went back to where I'd begun to stray away from the original plot and deleted everything else. That erased  over half of my book. I decided that I would redo everything in the book from that point on. It was a task that I didn't care to do and so I decided to take short break from writing which resulted in a year long break. 

I began writing other things, but this was the beginning of a long dry spell in writing for me. Every book I began to write, failed. During November I gave a half hearted attempt at writing 50,000 words in a month for NaNoWriMo, but I only got 6,000 words. The book I tried was called Invisible. Needless to say I did not attempt to continue writing in that book. I tried writing with Ginny in her book Classified, but that went down hill. That's when I tried Blue Jay and then Remember Ariel, improving my writing a little as I went. I was trying to reach 45,000 words in a month during Camp Nano when I found myself preferring to edit the book rather than write it. That's when I realized it might be time for me to pick up Darker Before Dawn again. 

During that year I had tried to edit Darkest Before Dawn a few times and got bored with it every time. This time I began by rewriting it from the very first chapter. I'm following the same basic storyline as before, but it's a little different. 

I considered only writing Darkest Before Dawn and then moving on to something else, but decided against that. It's now the first book of the Celestial Trilogy. 

The main character in Darkest Before Dawn is Hannah Dawn Scot, but she goes by Dawn. Her name has no connection to the title, that was purely a coincidence.

I wrote a short, incomplete, and kind of lame synopsis that doesn't really tell you much about the book, but it was fun to write so I'll share it anyway. Synopsis:

 Adam Smith, a man with a difficult past who endeavors to face it again. Dawn Scot, a brave girl who dares to venture into the unknown.The two virtual strangers will go on a life altering journey and only at the end will one's deepest secret be revealed. But will it's revolution cost another their life?

Updates and News

Okay, so now that I've published my last post I can see that the link did not work, but I don't know how to fix that. 

I was finally able to get on a computer today and look at the stats for my blog. (I've been using my iPod) My blogger app doesn't allow me to see the stats. The stats show me how many people have viewed my posts. I was so happy to see that as many as 16 people read one of my post on May 11th. Since no one had commented when I asked them to I was beginning to think no one was reading my blog. Not that I would blame them, I wouldn't read my blog if I were someone else. Now that I know somebody's following me then I will try a little harder to keep up my blog. 

Also, Ginny is creating a blog. She's using Weebly.com and I've been looking over her shoulder as she's making her blog. Weebly looks so cool! It has far more options than Blogger. I would like to start using Weebly instead. That said, once I have my computer back then I plan to create my blog on Weebly. When I'm done then I will share the website with you. I hope I don't lose any of my readers during the move. I'll probably post about it a few times to be sure everyone is aware that I'm moving. I will stick to blogger for a little while longer though, it will take awhile before I can get my computer back. (I should probably say "our" computer because it's Mom and Dad's and I just use it a lot.) The computer is at the repair shop, that's why I can't use it right now.

Celestial Trilogy

     Darkest Before Dawn, Light of Dawn, and Night Serene are the three books that will make up the Celestial Trilogy. It's possible I might change their names later on, but that is doubtful. I wanted to call it the Starlight Trilogy, but that was used by several other people. (There's still a 95% chance that I'll call it the Starlight Trilogy anyway.)

     There are two other possibilities for what I could rename the trilogy. I would probably only rename it if my readers wanted me too. My niece and little sister are reading this trilogy, by the way. The books could be called, Coming Darkness, Darkest Before Dawn, and Light of Dawn in that order. Then I would call it the Red Sky Trilogy. The second possibility is Coming Darkness, Haunting Night, and Dawn's Light which would be called the Starlight Trilogy. But like I said, I would only rename it if my readers wanted me to and I agreed with them.

     The Celestial Trilogy is set in a make believe world that's basically a re-imagined earth. Other than farmers most of the people live in the cities. Some cities are more advanced in technology than others. Where one city may have cars, televisions, and phones another might not have any of that and the people might even wear clothes similar to that of the medieval times. 

     I do not have a synopsis for any of these books yet, but I do plan to write one for Darkest Before Dawn soon. My next posts will most likely be focused on Darkest Before Dawn for a while. I will try to edit the first chapter so that I might be able to share some of it with you. Remember Ariel

I know I said I wouldn't talk about my books, but I'm quickly running out of ideas. I just tried a post about my siblings, but that got really boring. I want to elaborate on Remember Ariel some more because it's easier for me to talk about my books. 

Originally I wanted to name it The Code or something more computer-ish and technological sounding, then I found out there was a book and a movie by that name. The sentence remember Ariel is supposed to be used in two ways in the book. "Don't you remember, Ariel?" is one way it might be used. Ariel lost her memory so that's a question she would be faced with occasionally. "Remember Ariel?" is another question, one I already used in the book. In the book a mysterious little girl asks a woman if she remembers Ariel. 

When I title a book I like to use the title at least once somewhere in the book. I want it to mean something. In this book when the mysterious little girl asks that question it means everything. It's very important. That's also the part of the book where I got my writers block. I have no idea where I was going with it or why the girl is asking that. I just know it's important.

How Remember Ariel came to be. For months I kept coming up with a few ideas for some books I could write. I wanted to do something with technology, I wanted to give some of my characters an ability or "talent" that we don't have in the real world, I wanted them to wear dresses like in fairy tales and the medieval era. I wanted them to use swords and bow and arrows, but I wanted there to be cities, an oppressed people, a sad love story, a happy love story, and I wanted the main character to lose her memory. Instead of writing separate stories I combined them all into one.  Ariel lives on a small farm like many others in the country. She knows little about modern technology, she wears medieval dresses like everyone else she knows, and she's engaged to the man she loves. The people in her land are suppressed and have to pay high taxes. She's taken away by the government that dwells within tall walls and she discovers a modern city within the  towering walls. There she's used in an experiment, a computer chip of some kind is implanted near her brain that gives her the ability to control computer stuff and do other cool things like that. But, the operation erases her memory of everything in her life before that, she doesn't even remember her name. Because she doesn't know she's engaged she'll fall in love with someone else. So there you have it. All my book ideas crammed into one book. 

There's just a couple problems, pretty big problems, actually. A partial or none existent plot and a mysteries girl asking an important question, but I don't know why it's important. I wrote myself into a deep, deep pit and I can't get out. 

Frustrated and tired of trying to think it through I left the book and decided to pick up Darkest Before Dawn. As I mentioned before I hope to pick up Remember Ariel again someday.    

The End or the Beginning?

No matter what I try I can't seem to keep up my blog. I forgot about it yet again. When I did remember my blog I didn't know what to blog about. My only hobby is writing, but I'm quickly running out of things to say about it. Plus, I'm at a really dry spell with my writing, I've had three books in a row crash and burn, mostly because two of them didn't have a main plot. I've picked up an old book of mine that I had started one or two years ago, but I don't want to bore you with the details of that book. I asked some friends for advice on what to blog about, but I only got suggestions to talk about my favorite outfit, cooking, and sewing. I don't sew enough to blog about it. What on earth would I say about cooking? "So, I'm like, cooking dinner again.... I'm making macaroni and cheese.... It's my favorite food." That's so boring! My favorite outfit... I have no idea how to describe it. I could only take a picture and show you, but how dull is that? 

Clearly I have a dilemma. I really want to keep this blog, I love doing it, but with nothing to say what's the point? So, I've made a plan. I have made a list of things that I might be able to blog about. There are six categories with varies topics under each one. I'm going to try to test some of them out and see what works. 

Also, if there is anyone who's reading this blog and you actually like it then please let me know. I want to know if I should bother continue this blog or not.

P.S. I probably won't continue with quotes or verses in my posts. Both Blue Jay and Remember Ariel will probably never be completed. If I pick up Blue Jay a whole lot of it will be changed that you most likely won't recognize it. I would like to finish Remember Ariel some day, but it would receive a lot of revision too.

Resplendentruth

I'm following the blog Resplendentruth and when I read her post "See the Beauty" I wanted to share it with others. I already posted this, but was then reminded by my mother that I should have asked her if I could share her post on my blog. So I deleted it, emailed her and now that I have her permission I'm sharing the post again. I thought I should explain that for those of you who read the post, then saw it vanished and reappear.

Look around you. Maybe there’s a window nearby. Look out of it. What do you see? Do you see the vast sky, or at least a small section of it? Do you see trees?

Beauty lies everywhere. This world, and even the things outside it are amazing. A simple flower, petals so perfectly shaped, the color crisp and bright. Beautiful.

The sky, so brilliantly blue, full of bright streams of sunshine. Trees reach their waving branches up into the air providing a wonderful, vivid contrast of color.

Petrichor. A wonderful word to describe the wonderful smell of the earth after rain. Fresh. Beautiful.

The feeling of warm sun touching your skin in an invisible embrace. The sun touches the earth, providing warmth and light, and yet, if it were any closer, we would burn up. If it were any farther away, we would freeze. The perfect distance for life.

Even beyond the earth and the wonderful things on it, planets hang in the emptiness, each striking in size and color. At this point, we are barely a speck on the surface of a vast and beautiful planet. But, head further out to see even greater wonders, thousands of light years away, a distance I can’t even fathom – the distance light travels in a year. We see galaxies and trillions of stars, all shining brightly in perfect beauty.

Go a little further out, 28 million light years, and you will find The Sombrero Galaxy. It is 50,000 light years across.

20 million light years away is the Whirlpool Galaxy or the M51 Galaxy. The Nucleus of this galaxy holds something amazing.

According to the Hubble site, “the galaxy is spectacular because it is tilted nearly face-on to Earth, allowing for an unobstructed view of its the bright core.”

Stunning. A perfect picture of God’s love and power.

Yet, even with all this beauty and great feats of workmanship around us, we get caught up in the things of life. We are weighted down and simply forget to look at the wonders around us.

It’s so easy to take for granted the world around us, and to walk around without a constant sense of wonder.

I would challenge you to take a few minutes to look. Simply look. See the wonder. See the beauty. Look for God’s fingerprints on His creation. And above all, realize how great your creator is. Realize that if He made this world, and even the things outside of it thousands of light years away, he can take care of you. He is bigger than anything that you can even imagine. And He loves you.

Don’t take it for granted. Look for the beauty in everything.

Christ Is Risen

     "And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straight away left their nets, and followed him." Matthew 4:19-20
     "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment." Matthew 22:37-38
     "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:19-20
     This is the command of our Father. If we love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind then we will obey his command and go to all the nations declaring the wondrous news to all that will hear. "It is finished." (John 19:30b)"Christ is risen just as He said! We are forgiven of our sins, we are one with Him again!" And we will sing praises to our God because we're overflowing with the joy of the Lord, "Christ is risen from the dead, trampling over death by death. Come awake, come awake, come and rise up from the grave! Christ has risen from the dead! We are one with Him again!"

     That's the short, but important message I have that took me about an hour to put together. For my quote or Bible verse I will do Psalm 8:1 "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens."

     The above verses from Matthew came from the KJV. Psalm 8:1 was probably from NIV, but I'm not sure. The song Christ Is Risen is from Words and Music by Matt Maher and Mia Fieldes, Arranged by Gary Rhodes from the book The Instant Worship Choir Collection Volume 2.

Frustrations

     I can not believe this! It's both funny and frustrating at the same time. In my post "Updates and Apologies" I apologized for the many grammar and spelling mistakes I made in my last posts. I think I made more mistakes in that post than all the others combined! I forgot to use the spell check, I spelled "apologies" wrong! Apologies! How silly is that? Every time I looked at my post (after I published it and two people already read it) I found at least one mistake. Okay, I feel better now that I've gotten that out of my system.
    So, I'm following a few other Christian teens blogs and one of them does a quote of the week post which I thought was cool. I think I might do that. :) I'll either do a quote, or Scripture, or both. We'll start with this one, Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." NIV
